woman afraidPhilippians 4: 5-7

Let your gentleness be obvious to everyone. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Knock! Knock! Knock! Awakened abruptly from sleep at 6 a.m., from someone at the door, was a frightening experience.  What could it be a fire, gas leak..no it was the police.  My heart raced with all sorts of fears as to why three strangers entered our home with a warrant to arrest my child. In today’s climate with news of so many killings due to police brutality, minors neglected in the system and the horrors of imprisonment -Satan was having a field day with my emotions.  I immediately prayed entrusting my child and the situation into God’s hands for both were out of mine. Then a peace settled into my spirit like a force shield knowing that God was in control.

Concern (C):  Have you ever been faced with an unforeseen event that was out of your ability to command or circumvent?  Please share in comments below.

Encouragement (E):  God loves you and His word tells commands that you do not worry- that is not a request.  You are able to think clearly and be led by His spirit when you cast your anxieties on Him.  Grab other sisters and prayer warriors to pray for you also.  Get on your knees and pour out to Jesus who understands.  Keep Calm Sister,  Pray and Thank Jesus for the Victory.

Act (A): “God you are Awesome, All Knowing and All Caring.  And I know You are with me Father.  I thank you for your Power and Love over my life and the ones I love within it.  You love them more than I and gave them to me.  Therefore, I petition you with my requests to watch and protect over ______.   I pray for your help, as you see justly and mercifully.  As Your will only will be done.”  Amen

1 Cor 13: 4-8 NIV

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It  does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

I was speaking with a coworker who shared with me how hurt she was by someone she loved and thought loved her.  The hurt went so deep, for so long that she actually hated herself.  For she no longer believed in certain dreams she held for herself like having a husband and a family.  And had little hope for real love eluding her plans for the future.

Concern (C): Have you ever experienced disappointment, depression and/or anger about something that happened long ago that may/may not hurt you to this very day?  Please share in comments below.

Encouragement (E): The Word of God speaks about his description of love as rejoicing in the truth.  The truth that God has a plan for your life.  Also the love God speaks of is one that is always trusting and hoping.  When you persevere, you will triumph! Love always wins.

Philippians 4:8 Act (Sisters-think about such things)
“I am a winner.  No matter what Satan has in store for me, I have hope in God.  God loves me therefore, I will be kind and love me.  I thank Him for His patience and protection towards me.” Amen
