1 Cor 13: 4-8 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
I was speaking with a coworker who shared with me how hurt she was by someone she loved and thought loved her. The hurt went so deep, for so long that she actually hated herself. For she no longer believed in certain dreams she held for herself like having a husband and a family. And had little hope for real love eluding her plans for the future.
Concern (C): Have you ever experienced disappointment, depression and/or anger about something that happened long ago that may/may not hurt you to this very day? Please share in comments below.
Encouragement (E): The Word of God speaks about his description of love as rejoicing in the truth. The truth that God has a plan for your life. Also the love God speaks of is one that is always trusting and hoping. When you persevere, you will triumph! Love always wins.
Philippians 4:8 Act (Sisters-think about such things)
“I am a winner. No matter what Satan has in store for me, I have hope in God. God loves me therefore, I will be kind and love me. I thank Him for His patience and protection towards me.” Amen
